Body Language Expert Reveals How to Tell if Someone Likes You Ahead of Valentine’s Day

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, the decision of whether to take the plunge and give someone a Valentine’s card expressing your love to someone looms closer.

If you don’t feel comfortable giving someone a card out of the blue or find it difficult to pick up on if someone likes you back, you are not alone, on average each month there are 2,295 searches for ‘how to tell if someone likes you.’

In a bid to help those tortured souls across the UK this Valentine’s day, Funky Pigeon has recruited body language expert, Inbaal Honigman to help you pick up on the telltale signs of interest so you can give someone that Valentine’s card with confidence.

She said: “Dynamic body language can tell us whether someone loves or loathes you through the way they move, the way their features change and the way they naturally sway or hop when around you.

“The eyebrow flash is a very quick and significant move – raising the eyebrows very quickly and dropping them again when talking to you or looking at you from afar says ‘I am checking you out’, or if done mid-conversation it says ‘I find your views fascinating.’

“Throwing their head back with wild abandon when you make them laugh is another good sign which shows you how funny they find you and that they relate to what you have to say – it’s a show of vulnerability to display their throat.”

Here are eight more key signs of interest to look out for:

  1. Lengthy sustained eye contact, especially if you see their eyes glistening or pupils dilated
  2. Broad, genuine smile where their whole face lifts when they see you
  3. Fluttering eyelashes
  4. Licking their lips when talking to you or lips are slightly parted
  5. Facing you fully with their body like a mirror
  6. Holding their gaze on your mouth
  7. Mimicking your movements or copying some of your gestures
  8. Leaning in towards you when you speak

Inbaal explained: “Romantic feelings may come from the heart, but our entire bodies feel them – and physically express them too.

“From head to toe, there are clues and hints that someone might like you in a uniquely loving way and it’s worth paying attention to those physical expressions of love.”

Giving someone a Valentine’s card can be daunting at times but with these expert tips you will be able to figure out if that special person’s feelings are reciprocated and if you should go ahead and give them that card.
