Rihanna For River Island Summer Collection 2013

Let’s face it: Rihanna knows how to dress. Her style is constantly imitated by girls around the world. She is placed on a Best Dressed list almost weekly. And now, just in time for summer, you can dress like the style icon with clothes designed by Rihanna herself for River Island’s newest summer collection. Rihanna combines island influences with edgy street style to create a look that is all her own. The collection for River Island features a variety of skirts, tops, pants, jumpsuits, shoes, dresses and bathing suits that all have a touch of Rihanna’s unique style.

The collection, which originally made its debut at London Fashion Week in February, features pieces from the Spring line that have been reinterpreted, along with many new designs. One element specific to the summer collection is a new floral print that Rihanna created. She wanted to make a floral that was flirty and fun, but also “with a little rock’n’roll,” just like Rihanna herself.

“I wanted to make stuff that I want to wear. I was being selfish,” says Rihanna.

When designing the collection, River Island and Rihanna focused on making designs for people with different body types, different tastes, different moods and different bravery levels. There are a variety of sheer tops, mesh skirts, crop tops, sky high heels and sexy swimwear for those more willing to take risks. The collection also features many basic tees, but with a cool Rihanna twist. Some tees are sleeveless tunics, some are cropped, some are off the shoulder and some have ties at the hem. Whatever your taste, there is sure to be something you’ll love in the Rihanna for River Island Summer 2013 Collection, which hits River Island stores on May 25th.
