The White Company SS16 press day
Stepping in to the showroom, from the dark, cold and damp street outside, I felt like I was walking into a session of light therapy.
The whole space just bathed in a lovely clean, and bright light with white walls and an earthy wood floor, all complimented by a gorgeous fresh scent in the air. I had to stop and blink for a second, just to take it all in. A few seconds later and a glass of champagne appeared in my hand alongside a brownie so scrumptious, it should be illegal.
I’ve always been massive fans of The White Company, there’s something about the clean lines, simple yet beautiful designs and the pure white that really speaks to my love of Scandinavian design.
The hydrocotton bathrobe is a staple in my loungewear wardrobe, and their luxurious cashmere jumpers are the softest I’ve ever worn! It may sound silly but when I walk into one of their shops, it feels just like home.
They have, unlike many brands, somehow managed to stay on the right side of shabby chic without feeling dated or try-hard. The simple and pure quality basics are staple everyday pieces for your home and wardrobe. And the basics are truly where you set the tone in those two important areas.
New this season is a gorgeous spa-range, with luxurious body washes, oils, balms and, of course, candles!
The two scents in the range are called “Relax” – with notes of calming lavender, cooling sage, soothing peppermint; and “Restore” – with its neroli, eucalyptus and geranium base. The products are from their stunning natural range, scented purely with essential oils.
I headed over to the second room for a soothing hand and arm massage with the divine “Restore hand and body balm”. A moment of pure bliss, I almost nodded off for a second or two!
It’s not just about the look, it’s also the feel and the smell. I quickly realised that the heavenly scent I enjoyed as I walked in was the new ‘summer’ scent, available to purchase this spring. It’s what we can only describe as strawberries in the grass, reminding us of summer evenings and late night laughter under flowering bushes.
The White Company is a brand that really masters the concept of our dream home, the picnic display in the showroom was so beautifully set up, I was wondering when I could move in! A new addition to their table-wear range included an all-white artisan collection. Simple but beautiful everyday china. I was promised that this china range was here to stay, so now we can top up whenever meaning no more odd plates!
After a whirlwind of desirable scents, irresistible neutrals and a haven of calm. I left the press day with too much brownie in my tummy, a bouquet of white ranunculi’s and a goodie bag filled with summer delights.
You will find most of the new season in store now, however the spa range and the candle “Summer” will be available in April.
