Bring Warmth into the Home and Make it Look More Expensive with Rustic & Contemporary Lighting Designs from 247LAB

It’s easy to gravitate towards decor and lighting for the home as Autumn and the colder months are approaching. Undoubtedly, we all want to create an inviting space ahead of the winter months; a space where we can snuggle up on the sofa with a cup of tea (or perhaps a glass of red?), have family and friends over, cook up hearty comfort food and binge on the latest Netflix series.

If you’re anything like us, you will be looking forward to upgrading your home by incorporating new lighting features; soft and warm especially!

If you are in the market to update your home with new lighting, you’ve come to the right place! And why not make your home look more expensive and elegant whilst doing so? Working with lights in different shapes and designs can be so much fun too, and will truly add luxe and authenticity to your home! Just the same way decorating with different types of artwork does.

Contemporary as well as rustic designs work very well in the home especially for autumn and winter, providing a more cosy feeling to your space. That’s why we have been looking forward to introducing you to 247LAB! We will be switching up our current home decor to a more luxurious & calming feel by working with some of our favourite classic looking pieces of lighting from 247LAB. Rest assured, their designs will transform your home and make your decor stand out.

Pair their classic designs with natural material and wooden furniture (perhaps even wooden flooring if you’re feeling ready to take on a bigger project) as well as bringing the outside in to score that warm, cosy look.

247LAB is a design duo from Italy. Together, Roberto and Marco Bertelli bring gorgeous, timeless statement lighting into your home. This is an up-and-coming Italian brand that definitely should be on your radar!

Constantly growing, they currently run a team of five people. YCB got the chance to speak with the two founders and they let us in on their success journey:

Marco Bertelli, whose position is the Commercial Director/ Social Media Manager over at 247LAB, said: ‘We decided to start 247LAB in a very particular period: the post-covid: What drove us to the decision to take this risk is our passion for design and the absolute certainty that the Italian high craftsmanship would have made it through that.’

As Commercial Director/ Social Media Manager at 247LAB, Marco’s days are mostly spent tackling lots of emails and being on calls with architects, interior designers and shops making their network grow continuously. At the same time, his workdays are also made of continuous research of new ideas for social media campaigns and online partners in an attempt to make the brand more known.

“We don’t fear the dark” is their motto”. And rightly so!

‘247LAB was born in a very uncertain period and I think that this slogan perfectly sums up this and, at the same time, what we bring in our everyday activities.’ Marco told us.

‘My father has been working in this sector for almost 20 years: the tireless dedication and the passion he has always put into this job have played a fundamental role in getting me passionate about the lighting industry and, more generally, about the design world.’ He said.

Before working in the industry for almost two decades, Roberto Bertelli owned his own business in the eyewear industry.

“Always here for you, 24/7”. Roberto likes to work by that motto. The love and dedication the father and son put into their job does not end on Friday evening; ‘We are tireless and tenacious and we will always be there to advise and assist our customers at our best whenever it is needed.’ Roberto told YCB

‘As CEO of a small company such as 247LAB, I have to coordinate the work of the production department, the architects and the designers also supervising the correct development of the lighting projects; moreover, I have to deal with clients and suppliers… let’s say I have not much time to twirl my thumbs!’ Roberto said.

Relying on coffee to kick off their day on a high note (they are both Italian after all, and so coffee is a go-to!), Marco and Roberto are working with capable partners to develop all their projects and lamps. ‘Coffee is the perfect buddy for the toughest days!’ Roberto said, and we couldn’t agree more.

‘What makes me love my job and inspires me to do it every day is the consciousness to provide our clients with objects that combine a sober design, the latest technologies, and at the same time, are studied and developed to accompany the user in his/her everyday life; In Italy, we say: “unire il bello al funzionale” that, translated means “bring function and beauty”. Roberto told us.

What makes 247LAB unique is the combination of the modern interpretation of classic material, brass (that most of the companies in this field do not use!), artisanal techniques derived from the ‘Made in Italy’ tradition and exclusive designs. It’s easy to see how 247LAB is a creature that requires a lot of time and attention, and so the father-and-son duo runs the business full-time.

‘We collaborate with designers who submit their ideas and then, always interfacing with the production department, we evaluate them. At the same time, it can happen that starting from a simple shape, we get the inspiration to create a particular model: this happened, for example, in the development of the KYLE with a cylinder and of the Ro’ with a sphere.’ Said Marco.

When asking the designers if they have any favourite picks from their collection, Roberto said:

‘My favourite piece of our collection is “Gianduio”, a new pendant light that is a tribute to a famous Italian chocolate: the Gianduiotto; the fact that its shape is so similar to it brings me back to when I was a kid and I used to eat the Gianduiotto with my friends.’

Marco told us: ‘Personally, my favourite piece in our collection is the “KYLE tavolo”: I think that it perfectly embodies the spirit of 247LAB: a combination of exclusive and high-quality materials that gives life a sober and sophisticated object that perfectly fits into plenty different kinds of ambients.’

Any work advice for our readers aspiring to start their own business? ‘Try your best to live your job with passion and dedication even in the hardest times: the darkest hour is just before the dawn.’ Marco said.

‘Always give your best and be professional: try to keep an eye on everything that goes on in your company but, at the same time, don’t forget that it is important to delegate too… also (and most important), be careful to the details: often they are way more important than you think.’ Roberto pointed out.

So, what’s next in store for 247LAB? ‘It’s a surprise! The only thing we can tell you is we are developing an amazing rechargeable lamp that will be made available in the next months: so stay tuned and follow us on Instagram not to lose a thing!’ Marco told us, and we can’t wait to keep an eye out for what’s to come!
