The New Twist On Animal Prints

The New Twist On Animal Prints

celebs in animal prints

Animal prints have been making a comeback in the past few years and here at Your Coffee Break we love the trend. This year, animal prints have overcome their tacky connotation, and when used in moderation, are now considered chic. Animal prints are a nice way for women to show off their wild sides. Like all trends, this one has evolved into something even cooler: Animal motifs. Women everywhere are transitioning from traditional prints to graphic tees with animal motifs on the front. When Givenchy made a black t-shirt with a Rottweiler on the front, the trend was launched. Animal motifs were quickly seen on models, celebrities and fashion bloggers alike.

Interested in adding an animal tee to your wardrobe? Luckily, you will not have to spend hundreds of pounds on a designer tee. Many retailers were quick to add animal t-shirts to their collections, making this new trend very affordable. To avoid a childish connotation, look for tees with fierce animal faces, such as tigers, sharks or wolves. This will help add an edge to your look. When done appropriately, you can rock a cute animal t-shirt, like an owl, cat or dog – seen on Emma Stone – as long as you pair it with neutral accessories, such as a long tan cardigan and dark denim. For summer, an animal tee with cut-offs and gladiator sandals will give you a “rock’n’roll meets bohemian” look.

For a fancier event, channel Olivia Wilde or fashion blogger Chiara Ferragni (from the Blonde Salad) by wearing your edgy tee underneath a black blazer. You won’t look crazy if you keep everything else minimal. A leather jacket or military green vest would also look great over your tee. Pile on some studded accessories, a pair of booties or heels and you will look like you belong at fashion week.
