Off Duty Up Do’s With SAYA Designs

As we say goodbye to summer and pack away our floral headbands, bikinis and little white dresses until next year, we’re also secretly excited about the new season that is upon us. Of course, we will miss those long summer nights and morning jogs around the park with the warm sun on our face, but we are ready to embrace autumn fashion and pumpkin spice lattes with open arms.

There’s a certain romance about the change in season. The leaves begin to fall, and nature is looking beautiful in all shades of fiery orange and striking red. We can snuggle back into our giant oversized scarves and embrace cosier fashion. Oversized jumpers, relaxed denim and hair-up is our vibe!

We’ve been scouring Pinterest for hair inspo to take us into the next season in style. We’re after lowkey, off-duty up do’s that require minimal effort but offer maximum style. We think we’ve found the key!

Say hello to SAYA Designs, a collection of beautiful handcrafted hair sticks made from recycled root wood salvaged from plantations in Indonesia. These eco-friendly hair accessories are turning waste into something both gorgeous and purposeful. And we’re on board.

We’ve been testing out a few of our favourite hair sticks in the office, and we have to say, we’re pretty chuffed with the results! We’ve definitely found our new hair saviours.

The Half Do Half Up Do

This is a great look for those with shorter hair! It’s stylish yet practical and perfect for everyday. This look works very well with the Mini Pandans and the Mini Palms.

The Twist

This look is effortless and easy to achieve with a simple hair tool. Avoid breakage and damage that you get with hair ties and instead opt for a Barrette. This hair fork is able to hold large amounts of thick hair and the three pins will ensure your hairstyle holds.

The Messy Low Bun

The ultimate off-duty look has to be the messy bun! Give yours a chic update with a Taro hair stick, or have fun with styling your look and go for two. We love the vintage 90s feel of two sticks, it’s definitely one of our favourite looks.

Not only are these hair accessories super stylish, we love the brand ethos. A brand with sustainability goals gets a huge tick in our book and we’re always behind brands that want to make a difference. You can read more about SAYA designs and their mission here.

Love the look but not sure how to use them? The tutorials might help, and they’re much easier than they look. Trust us! We can barely manage to plait our own hair, but these are so simple and offer a quick, stylish hairdo in seconds.
