A Note from the Editor
Welcome to Your Coffee Break
2013 is going to be a spectacular year at Your Coffee Break, we are so excited! For something that started only one year ago, YCB Magazine has rapidly grown from being a team of only four people to establishing itself as the go-to online magazine for career women across the globe, looking for inspiring content to read during their coffee break.
This year, I am excited to welcome on board a strong New York team. Launching in the US will be an adventurous journey even for us Londoners across the pond.
We have teamed up with NYCPRGIRLS, Business owner and Entrepreneur Nichole Ciotti and Shanley Knox, Founder and CEO behind the Nakate project, a NYC/LA based company set to help women in Uganda reach their potential through producing and shipping African handmade jewelry over to the US. Using African talent to nourish African growth and development is the mission behind Shanley’s business.
Every morning I wake up excited and beyond motivated to do what I can to help women in career across the world. When you do something you love, it doesn’t really feel like a job. But we do work hard! Your Coffee Break’s editors and worldwide network of correspondents are here to give our readers confidence in their career. In our career section we tackle workplace issues, help women move up the career ladder and land their dream job. We give you the answer on how to work towards your dream job and how to deal once you are there. We talk to industry professionals and give you the latest industry trends, strategies and tactics on how to stay on top of your game!
Our connection with key trendsetters, taste-makers and PR’s results in inspired features that delivers the latest in fashion and beauty, celebrity news straight from Hollywood, and travel; sections we all know that you love!
Regular features include Thursday column ‘The Careerist,’ written by PR and career expert Heidi Lidholm who explores the many challenges facing career women today.
Being one of Your Coffee Break’s most successful features, ‘The London Diaries’ is a main focus of the publication and can be found under the Pillow Talk section. The column covers the musings of Sophie White, a journalist in her early thirties who loves all things petite, pastel and elegant. Sophie talks about her glamorous life on Kings Road and love as a single young lady in the London dating scene. Her weekly Sunday feature reads as a book, with each chapter even more seductive and enticing than the last.
Here at Your Coffee Break. we call ourselves coffee addicts because we are, just like you, go-getters living in the big city knowing that caffeine is the best motivation.
Sit back, enjoy your coffee break and let us do the rest!
