Life After Lockdown – Amazing Things to do Once Restrictions are Eased

This last year has been incredibly difficult and unpredictable, but now as we start to see light at the end of the tunnel, it makes sense to (cautiously) look ahead and plan how we’re going to enjoy life after lockdown.

Pandemic restrictions have meant we’ve been away from friends and family, unable to visit elderly relatives, enjoy a drink in our local, pamper ourselves at our favourite beauty salon and of course, go on a much-needed holiday. Now that restrictions are easing, it’s exciting to explore all the amazing things we can do once we’re given the go-ahead. Of course, it’s important that we still take Covid-19 seriously and do all we can to prevent the spread of the virus. So with this in mind, always keep your facemask with you and a bottle of pocket size sanitizer spray in your bag to keep those germs at bay and protect yourself and those around you.

Let’s take a look at some of the amazing things you might want to do once restrictions are eased.

Meet for brunch

After a year of changing restrictions, lockdowns and caution it’s clear that brunch with your closest friends is extremely overdue. Even if you’re not comfortable heading to a public venue just yet, you can exercise additional caution by taking your brunch alfresco and meeting your friends in the park, or in a wide-open space. Mojitos anyone?

Visit your elderly relatives

Video calls and regular phone calls have been essential throughout lockdown and for many individuals, they’ve been the only line of communication and contact with their loved ones in over a year. As useful as they have been, they can never match that feeling of meeting your elderly relatives in person. Whether you visit their backyard for a long-overdue coffee or you visit their residential home once restrictions allow, ensure to take social distancing seriously, wear your mask and sanitise your hands frequently.

Book a holiday

That feeling as the heat hits your face when you step off the plane simply can’t be replicated. And while staycations have been appreciated distractions from work, nothing can replace two weeks relaxing poolside or exploring somewhere new and exotic. Regulations and restrictions surrounding holidays are changing and are being constantly reviewed. So, exercise caution when booking a holiday and keep the cancellation policies in mind, in the meantime why not plan your dream holiday and full itinerary instead? You’ll have plenty of time to save!

Visiting the hairdresser

Whether your hair is in desperate need of a trim, or your roots are incredibly overgrown, a visit to your trusted hairdresser is certainly anticipated. It’s not just about correcting and maintaining your style, visiting the salon is a great way to relax and enjoy some “you-time”, chatting with your hairdresser is like catching up with an old friend and feeling like a million dollars afterwards is something we’ve all missed!

Final thoughts…

There are dozens of things to look forward to now that restrictions are easing, just remember to follow the given guidelines and keep your mask and hand sanitiser close.
