Work(out) hard and play hard in sports luxe!

Quemondo

‘A million girls would kill for your job’: both an infamous line from The Devil Wears Prada and words expressed to us on a regular basis. The fashion industry is the world that never sleeps, and yes, a million girls would kill for our jobs. But it’s not all glitz and glamour. We’ve lived and worked in LA, New York and London, and we’ve had to become best friends with hard work and hard workouts to stay on top of the game.

To look great, feel energised, and work to the best of our ability regular workouts are essential, but we can barely find the time to go to the gym anyway, let alone the time to plan ahead and pack gym clothes before heading to the office in the early hours of the morning.

However, something’s been happening in the fashion industry that might just work in our favour. We are, of course, talking about the rise and rise of the sports luxe trend. In fact, it can hardly be called a trend anymore – that suggests that something is temporary or fleeting and this is most certainly not.

Sports luxe Quemondo

Sports luxe presents us with an opportunity to be the best dressed woman at the gym whilst still showing we mean business as an athlete, but also to turn up at the office wearing the same hoody with stilettos because, hey, it’s sports luxe so we’re bang on trend!

Athleisure hoodies ooze luxury and effortless style and, mostly importantly, can fit seamlessly in to every element of our lives and personalities. Muhammad Azhar, founder of luxury hoody brand Quemondo, explained that it’s important to him to cater for every type of woman for every type of occasion with CasualSporty and Fashion hoody collections. ‘The good thing about our hoodies is that they don’t restrict the wearer from overlapping these ranges’, he tells us. ‘For example our casual hoodie can be worn to the gym and the sporty hoodie can be worn as a casual one. Even our fashion hoodies have been designed keeping in view the recent sports luxe concept so that the wearer has the option to wear them for a night out!’

‘Celebrities like Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and David Beckham have been spotted sporting hoodies in the past, proving just how classy casual clothing can be’. Muhammad definitely has a point: until very recently, any fashion industry professional worth her salt would not have been seen dead in a hoody, but now? Pair a Quemondo hoody with a chiffon pleated midi skirt for an ultra feminine athleisure office look, before swapping to statement leggings to go for a run! Trust us, bystanders will be left bewildered as you race off in to the distance. ‘How does she manage to look so good whilst running so fast?’ they’ll ask.

‘It was difficult to find the right balance where you make a style statement with our hoodies and still have all the practical aspects at your disposal’, Muhammad admits. And yet they’ve done it. The sports hoodies, for example, have a two colour water resistant zipper – an industry first – and thumbholes to help keep hands dry, so no more excuses about not wanting to go for a run because it’s raining. Yes, the fashion industry is a dizzyingly fast paced world, but work hard and work out hard in Quemondo and you’ll have no trouble keeping up.
