It would not be Paris Fashion Week without Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel show. The show, which took place at Le Grand Palais, was attended by stars such as Jennifer Lopez, Kanye West, and Poppy Delevigne. Known for its dramatic displays the French design house’s SS13 collection came down the runway in the midst of large windmills while walking on top of a solar paneled catwalk.
Chanel’s classic tweed jacket was given a seasonal update into a shorter and cropped version of its iconic self. Lagerfeld’s SS13 collection contained many of Chanel’s signature white and black outfits but pops of colour soon followed. From the pink and white geometric patterned skirt suit to the striking red knit dress there was no shortage of colour in Lagerfeld’s Spring 2013 creations.
Accessories were aplenty, ranging from the much talked about giant quilted bag added onto a hula hoop to the over-sized pearls to the sunglasses that came with attached Coco Chanel figurines.
