Signs you need an assistant

There comes a time in your career (hopefully) when you realize you need a little help. Either you have climbed the ranks in your company and have so much responsibility that in order to do your job you need help to just stay organized or you have started your own business and need help with, well, life. Basically you need an assistant, whether you like it or not. Here are some signs you need to start looking for your right hand man or woman.

1. You are putting off annoying (but easy) tasks

Not returning emails or voicemails because it just seems so annoying? These are things that have to be done and if they are just piling up, you are going to be screwed.

2. You are unable to take on new business because you are so busy

This is really bad. You are throwing away the potential to make more money because you are weighed down by smaller tasks that you need to get out of the way.

3. You need help with social media

Social media is such low hanging fruit for many companies but you don’t have time to do it or learn how to be good at it. This is something an assistant could definitely do!

4. You don’t have time to work on long-term goals

You are so busy just trying to get through the day that you can’t even strategize about the bigger picture. You need that time.

5. You are super stressed

You are really stressed and not dealing with it well because you don’t have time to release it. So it is just continuing to build up.

6. You don’t have time to be creative

You can’t even find that paper you just put on your desk so how would you have time to be creative?

7. You have the money to hire an assistant

Unfortunately, you may have all these signs but you need to be at a financial point where you can afford to hire an assistant without hemorrhaging money. But, there are always interns!
