Three Ways to Transform Your Bedroom with Wallpaper

Bare walls can be oh so boring! Wow with wallpaper. It never disappoints.

Think outside the box when it comes to how you decorate. Add trending prints, vibrant colours and unique personality to your interiors instantly – all by using wallpaper.

Rebecca Snowden, Interior Style Advisor at Furniture and Choice, shares her three ways to transform your bedroom with different wallpaper styles.

1. Get maximalist vibes with dark botanical wallpaper

“Style a bedroom with maximalist vibes, using a moody colour scheme and bright accents. For example, layer a grey velvet bed with orange and blue linen to let similar colours in the wallpaper pop even more.

“A dark palette in the bedroom can help create a cosy, intimate atmosphere for a good night’s sleep. Choose patterned wallpaper with an eye-catching botanical print to add drama and personality, whether it’s on an accent wall or all around the room. Make the colours in the wallpaper stand out by coordinating them with your soft furnishings and accessories.”

2. Use vintage wallpaper to elevate classic décor

“Take a cue from the ‘cottagecore’ trend with vintage wallpaper and classic decor to create a charming, timeless bedroom.

“Add life to the walls with light green wallpaper featuring a pretty bird motif to capture the relaxing feeling of the countryside.

“Keep the rest of the room in a light neutral palette for a soothing, cosy effect. Choose a soft fabric bed with an elegant scallop design and add warmth with a vintage-style lamp and wooden bedside table. Complete the look with fresh white bedsheets and colourful accent cushions.”

3. Play up a summery look with bright tropical wallpaper

“Channel that carefree summer energy all year round with bright tropical wallpaper and soft pink accents.

“On a feature wall, opt for light green wallpaper with large, botanical prints to make a bold statement in the room. Colour block with pink walls for a fun and playful combination.

“Use jewel tones within the same palette to add contrast; for example, pair emerald coloured bedding with pink and white sheets for a rich, layered look. Ground the room with a grey fabric bed and add fresh flowers and plants for a touch of nature.”
