Venice Film Festival 2014: Our Favourite Looks

Italy’s famous ‘City of Water’ has been taken over by Hollywood for the eagerly-anticipated Venice International Film Festival. Now in its 71st year, the festival runs from 27th August – 6th September, and is all about celebrating international cinema.

Of course we’re excited to see what new films are on offer and what the critics are saying about the latest cinematic releases but here at Your Coffee Break we can’t help but let our eyes wander to the red carpet.

Charlotte Gainsbourg has made a number of appearances on the red carpet during the festival, and this one-sleeved leather dress that she wore to the premiere of Nymphomaniac: Volume 2 is just one of our favourites. The actress and singer exuded French-girl-cool with this dress from Anthony Vaccarello’s AW14 collection and stood out from other traditional red carpet looks.

Actress Emma Stone stunned in her green tulle gown by Valentino Couture at the Birdman premiere. With a plunging neckline and knotted waist, this dress matched perfectly with Emma’s pale skin tone and new choppy bob.

Another classic red carpet look came from model Alessandra Ambrosio. The Brazilian model, best known for being a Victoria’s Secret Angel, wore a scarlet gown by Alberta Ferretti for the premiere of La Rancon de la Gloire. Paired with a statement Chopard necklace and Salvatore Ferragamo heels, Alessandra kept the rest of her look clean and simple.

One of our favourite celebrity dressers here at Your Coffee Break is Dakota Fanning. The 20-year-old actress always dresses appropriately for her age whilst still having fun with fashion, and this look is no exception. Dakota wore a white satin mini dress adorned with black and green beading by Miu Miu to the Miu Miu Women’s Tales dinner, and looked très chic.

French model Constance Jablonski was another one to sport Alberta Ferretti at the festival. The face of Estee Lauder wore a stunning white gown with floral embroidery from the Spring 2014 collection to the after party of The Humbling, and looked every inch the bohemian babe.

No red carpet would be complete without Chanel, and one of our favourite looks from the fashion power house came in the form of French actress Anna Mouglalis’ off-white dress she wore to the premiere of Il Giovane Favoloso. The neoprene Chanel Couture number from AW14 was embroidered with gold and silver scrolling and really made a statement.
