The key to a perfect outfit is perfect planning. Not only do we spend Sunday evenings putting together the week’s ensembles, we’re now starting to spend the last few weeks of summer playing around with ideas for the autumn / winter season. Our first port of call for inspiration has (obviously) got to be the AW14 fashion week catwalks, where this year patchwork construction, moody florals and calf-length skirts reigned supreme. But honestly? It’s the little details we’re most interested in, and like sartorial magpies we’re always drawn to anything big and shiny. This year, we were captivated by the incredible rocks on the Proenza Schouler runway. After spotting the models’ modestly manicured fingers splashed with oversized gemstone rings back in February, we set ourselves the task of getting our hands on our own precious metals. We’re pleased to announce that that mission has now been accomplished. are, by their own admission, gemstone nerds, and it’s in their treasure trove of glistening jewels that we’ve found Magma rings.

Much like those on the Proenza Schouler catwalk, the Magma ring collection sees rugged stones in a variety of cool colours paired with minimal metal. The rings are authentic, raw, and rough cut – perfect to have peeping out of the chunky cuffs of a cosy knit this winter. Back at New York Fashion Week, Proenza Schouler proved that it’s not only delicate thin rings that we should be loading up on and stacking up: wear two or three earth-tone Nowseen rings together for an organic, seasonal take on the colour clash trend.

This autumn / winter, we love the idea of the labradorite gold plated ring with distressed denim and a leather jacket, and the lemon quartz gold plated ring is a bold statement take on a classic neutral colour scheme. Or if you’re not quite ready to let go of this summer’s vibrant colour palette just yet, try the amethyst gold plated ring with a coral nail.
