What to wear for Christmas

As the festive season approaches there are boundless things to consider. What presents to buy, which decorations to hang around the house and of course what to wear for the merry-go-round of celebratory drinks, parties and the big day. Dressing for multiple occasions can be daunting but with a little forward planning and smart shopping, you can ensure you look your most fabulous this Christmas.

The LBD is a reliable go to but with so many fabulous dresses on offer there is no time like the present to branch out and try something new. Lace and sequins are tried and tested festive favourites but metallics and jacquards fabrics are great alternatives for giving a touch of shimmer and texture to a look.

If glittering dresses are not quite your style there are a host of eveningwear options on offer this season. Jumpsuits have the ease of a dress in that they are a one-piece outfit but with a relaxed, glamorous feel. Team a slouchy silk version with your highest heels and a statement necklace for an easy sophisticated look. If staving off the cold is your prerogative then why not team silk sweatshirt with a beaded skirt or luxe jacquard trousers and big earrings or a statement cuff. This look will keep you both covered up and stylish.

This is the season for sparkle and bling so choosing accessories is always a joy. Jewelled necklaces and chandelier earrings will beautifully merchandise up even the simplest of outfits whilst a bold clutch with help pull together an outfit. High heels are always an enduring favourite, be they jewel hued courts or striking black sandals but there are also wonderful bejewelled kitten heels to be had, perfect paired with a cute short dress and a touch of insouciance.

Sleek fur stoles will add a touch of golden age Hollywood glam, as will soft leather gloves, keeping you both classy and toasty.
