Trend Alert: Full circle skirts
Retro ladylike skirts have been slowly popping up on our sartorial radar for a while now – Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine rocked a great ankle-grazing skirt and bustier combo a few months ago, The Blonde Salad’s Chiara Ferrangni was spotted in a tulle version at Paris Fashion Week, and just this week, Nicole Richie stepped out in a bold Alberta Ferretti ensemble.
These long maxi skirts are a little more forgiving than last season’s tight tube skirt, and also add a touch of effortless glamour to even the simplest outfits. For the brave, it’s all about balancing out the proportions with a tiny shrunken top, but if you don’t have the abs for it just yet, ease into it with a tucked-in tee. The trend is best worn with a basic top and a loud statement skirt, although a cropped blazer will easily polish off your look.
