Thameen London Launches ‘The Cora’ Fragrance and it Smells Like Heaven

For some of us summer is the most joyous time of year. Bright mornings, picnics in the park and beach holidays are all plus points to be enjoyed for as long as the weather allows us. Fun days out with family are common, and we often feel super productive with more daylight hours available in the evenings.

As autumn slowly creeps in, many of us are secretly looking forward to the imminent chill in the air, soft wooly hats and the leafy pavements which are set to adorn our world. As with every change in season, there are adaptions to be made as we acclimatise to the new temperature and lifestyle which goes along with each new chapter.

As you pack away your floaty dresses, swimwear and sandals you may also be looking at your perfume collection, itching for something new. In July we’re partial to a fresh, fruity fragrance which evokes memories of beachfront parties and pina coladas. But when September rolls around we crave something different. If you’re stuck for inspiration, we’ve got something brand new for you to try that might just take your fancy.

The Cora is a stunning new fragrance which takes its name from the largest yellow, pear-shaped diamond in the world. The record-breaking diamond (known as The Cora Sun-Drop Diamond) weighs in at whopping 110.3 carats.

Coloured by tiny amounts of nitrogen trapped in the carbon molecules The Cora was formed between 1 and 3 billion years ago and was discovered in South Africa in 2010. It was sold in 2011 at an auction in Geneva for almost £7 million to an anonymous buyer.

The enticing new fragrance comes from Thameen London, a company illustrious with luxury and high quality scents. Based in London’s Knightsbridge, they are a highly regarded niche British brand, which combines Western refinement with Eastern opulence.

The word itself means ‘precious’, and the brand takes pride in exploring the history behind the world’s most enchanting jewels and scents, creating bottles of perfume which each tell a story. Thameen is born from an obsession of beautiful fragrance oils, teamed with the vision to construct elegant, original and contemporary fragrances. Each central ingredient has been painstakingly sourced to ensure that it is of the most exquisite quality and has been combined to create precious Extrait Parfums of very high concentration.

The latest addition to their array of irresistible fragrances is The Cora. It boasts a beautiful, multi-faceted spectrum of rare ingredients which are mesmerising yet timeless like the diamond itself. Adored by fragrance connoisseurs around the world, its structures are pure and simple allowing each rare ingredient to shine with elegance.

This modern classic is simply radiance in a bottle, introducing an iridescent burst of white jasmine and magnolia that shimmer atop vivid-yellow Bulgarian roses and honeyed wisteria. Notes of patchouli, white musk and amber create a warm, earthy base which is perfect for autumn. Clean, floral notes are provided by Lilly of the Valley whilst translucent vanilla offers sweet and creamy nuances. Spiced nutmeg catches the light and segues effortlessly into the floral lustre of carnation, whilst benzoin sharpens the senses melting into a glazed base of golden amber and luminous white musk.

Presented in the classic Thameen cobalt blue bottle, it will take pride of place on our dressing table very soon. Perfect for an evening out on the town, cocktails with friends or a day at the office, we know this modern day gem is one that will stand the test of time and become a staple in your fragrance collection.

Not only do these fragrances make for fantastic treats for yourself come Autumn Winter, they’re also a wonderful gift to give your bestie, mum, nan, sister, boyfriend or anyone who you want to show a little appreciation and love to.

Available now from Selfridges and online via the Thameen website, be sure you grab The Cora in time for the upcoming season.
