A jet-setter’s daily beauty routine: Michael Kors new beauty line is made for your busy lifestyle
We were riddled with delight when we heard that one of our favourite all American designers, Micheal Kors was launching a beauty line earlier this year. After all, who wouldn’t want the brand’s sporty yet ultra glamorous aesthetic gracing their makeup bag. The line has been a roaring success and we have put together an edit of our favourite picks.
Three major fragrances are at the heart of the new collection, each with distinctive scents developed to represent the three facets of the Micheal Kors woman; Sporty, Sexy and Glam. “I think those three things – sexy, sporty and glam – have always been the DNA of Michael Kors, and in a strange way, the Michael Kors woman really is all three of those things. It’s just that she feels more strongly about one of them at certain times.” Kors told WWD.
Sporty Citrus is a crisp, refreshing scent with top notes of orange and mandarin with warm woods and white florals in the background; perfect for making sure your revitalised for a productive January back at work. Sexy Amber is a sumptuous combination of sandalwood and musk, impeccably embodying the bold, vibrant colours of Micheal’s RTW collections whilst Glam Jasmine is a celebration of floral notes for the overtly feminine amongst us; the perfect scent for a night out with the girls.
Our favourites from the range have to be the decadent nail varnishes. The six shades range from pale nude to deep ebony and come in the most beautiful of bottles, topped with an oversized gold cap, adorned with it’s one signature Micheal Kors plaque. We’ll be wearing the “Sexy Scandal” on our nails this week to brighten up our office attire.
The makeup range is a hit list of all the products necessary to achieve that sleek jet set look. The lipsticks are fabulous and perfectly pigmented for achieving a vibrant pout and with fabulous co-ordinating glosses and the perfectly pigmented bronzers are fine milled, giving the perfect touch of shimmer that’s easy to build up for that post holiday glow.
So whilst the jet set lifestyle may not be attainable for all of us, you can certainly inject a little international glam into your cosmetics drawer. No one needs to know that you spent the holidays on your sofa next to the fireplace rather than in St Tropez…
