From On-Screen to Your Wardrobe: Get Barbie-Ready with These 3 Looks this Summer

People worldwide are planning on taking a trip to Barbie Land on July 21st when the widely anticipated Barbie movie hits the big screens. As we etch closer to the premiere, pink fever is certainly spreading – It’s safe to say that the colour of the summer is pink!

Google search data reveals that searches for “Barbiecore” have skyrocketed 2,505% in the past year worldwide and TikTok views have soared 342 million. It’s no secret that more shoppers are looking for pink items to amp up their summer wardrobes this year and internal data from PrettyLittleThing exposes the most searched for items.

Sophie O’Neil, Senior Stylist at PrettyLittleThing shares three key items to incorporate the hot new Barbiecore trend into your wardrobe this summer:

1. Pink co-ords, soon to be seen everywhere this summer

Internal data has found pink co-ords to be the most sought after pink pleaser over the past month, with a 37% site search increase in May.

“Co-ords can be mixed and matched, dressed up or down and re-purposed for many more iconic moments, the possibilities are endless and there’s a co-ord for everyone.”

2. The pink dress everybody is looking at right now

Internal data has revealed over 10,000 page views this past month for a hot pink midi dress, making it the most popular pink dress.

“A pink dress is a staple wardrobe item for the Barbiecore trend. With a drape detail, midi length and a subtle slit, this dress is perfect for any occasion. Whether it’s brunch with the girls, a summer wedding guest outfit or date night with your loved one – it’s a classic pink showstopper even Barbie would be proud of.”

3. The iconic Barbie heel

“Margot Robbie’s heel scene is a movie teaser global sensation. While a sparkly heel catches the eye, you may be looking for a slightly toned down Barbie look this season. A simple but impactful heeled mules will do the trick and make you feel like Barbie every single time.”
