Wicked for Good: Glinda and Elphaba’s Styles Decoded
The Wicked Part 2 trailer is out… and colour analyst decodes the colour code of confidence.
With the Wicked Part 2 trailer dropping today, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo will not only defy gravity once again but also defy the old fashion adage that ‘pink and green should never be seen.’

Colour theory is key when it comes to Elphaba and Glinda’s identities. Glinda is charming, soft and compassionate in pink, whilst Elphaba is grounded and confident in green. These are more than just costume choices, Michael Kors reveals the wicked truth.
- 58% of people say the colours they wear impact how they feel inside.
- Pink (15%) and green (15%) are among the top five colours people want to wear more of.
To delve deeper into how colour psychology shapes how we present ourselves, Michael Kors also gained insights from colour analyst Charlotte Elizabeth. She explains why colour can radically boost confidence, shift energy, and even change how others perceive you.

Charlotte says, “pink has a softer, more nurturing effect, but depending on the shade, it can be playful (hot pink), romantic (rose), or calming (pastel pink). It’s linked to compassion and self-expression. It can evoke feelings of warmth, approachability, and even self-care. It’s often associated with compassion, making it a great choice when you want to foster connection and kindness” which is a true embodiment of Glinda.
Although Charlotte says, “if you’re looking to project calm authority/ balance, green is your best ally. It’s a colour deeply connected to nature, harmony, and stability, making it ideal for situations where negotiation, diplomacy, or a sense of grounded confidence is needed” a colour analysis that Elphaba would approve of.
Whether you’re team pink or team green, or looking to mix a little wickedness into your wardrobe with dopamine dressing, this trend is all about feeling as fantastic as you look.
