Cowboy Carter Comes to the UK – And Here’s How to Nail the Look

How to nail the Cowgirl trend without looking like you’re off to a rodeo

With Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour galloping into the UK, we’re feeling the irresistible urge to saddle up in fringe, suede, and the chicest denim we can find.

Yeehaw! Beyoncé just made Americana cool again. Cowgirl Core isn’t just a passing trend – it’s a cultural moment. Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter has taken the fashion world by storm, celebrating heritage, individuality and Americana in its most elevated form.

Following on from 2023’s Disco and Coastal Cowgirl iterations, this year’s take is more refined and deeply rooted in traditional Western staples – think structured denim, raw-edged suede, and bold belt buckles. It’s less about kitsch and more about authenticity with a high-fashion twist.

This revival has also been seen across the industry – from Pharell’s Louis Vuitton’s Wild West-inspired runway to TikTok’s obsession with Bella Hadid’s off-duty ranch-ready looks. As the UK tour kicks off, we’re predicting an explosion of fringe, cowboy boots and tonal denim on our high streets and at the shows.

We’ve sat down with Megan Watkins, Head Stylist at online fashion destination SilkFred, to break down the Beyoncé-fuelled Americana aesthetic and share expert advice on how to nail the look without straying into costume territory.

“Start by mixing iconic cowboy pieces into everyday looks – like pairing suede cowboy boots with a midi dress or adding a denim waistcoat to a classic white tee and maxi skirt combo.”

“For the tour itself, you’ll want to embrace a bolder version of the trend – try double denim (but keep the tones slightly mismatched), add in a statement belt, and don’t be afraid to throw on a fringe jacket. Finish with a neutral cowboy hat and you’ll be channelling Cowboy Carter in no time.”

“For those wanting to dip a toe into the trend without going full Western, opt for accents: think studded accessories, snakeskin prints or western-style embroidery.”

Megan’s 5 Cowboy Carter Must-Haves:

  • Cowboy hat
  • Cowboy boots (suede or leather – bonus points for embroidery)
  • Fringed jacket
  • Denim co-ord or maxi skirt
  • Buckled belt

Here at YCB, we are absolutely loving Durango for embracing western-inspired footwear like never before! And the Durango’s 16-inch Crush Boot has been spotted on backup dancers – and even Beyoncé’s daughter, Blue Ivy!

While the 16-inch Crush style isn’t currently available in the UK, fans can still achieve the same western style with the Durango® Crush Western collection, which offers a range of similar fashion-forward silhouettes designed with effortless wear and standout style.

The Crush Western boots are built with a cushion flex insole for enhanced comfort and designed with folded-edge pull straps, allowing them to slip on and off with ease. The bold, intricate stitching adds a playful touch of sass, ensuring you will stand out in the crowd.
