Pregnant Women Who Snack on Nuts are ‘More Likely’ to Have Smarter Children!

Pregnant women who graze on nuts, especially walnuts, almonds and pine nuts – in their first trimester – are more likely to have a brainy child a recent study suggests.

The research was carried out by Barcelona Institute for Global Health (IS Global). It is believed that the beneficial effects of the nuts were down to their high levels of folic acid and essential fatty acids like omega 3 and 6.

Analysis of the results showed the groups of children who’s mothers consumed more nuts during the first trimester gained the best results in all tests measuring cognitive function, attention capacity and working memory!
