Emotional Health: Make-Up Brilliance with Lush

When I think of health, I like to think of the whole package – spiritual, emotional and physical. Subsequently I was really interested by a new concept of how make-up can affect your psychological needs.

Lush have introduced a range of cosmetics that match the mood you are in. So it’s less about wearing make-up that is in season or what’s on trend, and more about how you feel emotionally.

Emotional Brilliance works as a way to wear something that’s designed for you – you choose colours and then the corresponding words, such as Confident, Take Control or Glamorous, will be significant to you and your needs at that time and you wear them to get that point across.

It’s the power of suggestion – it’s enough that you believe in it, you will then start to behave a certain way.

Actually when we think about it we do this with clothes all the time. Come on, how many of you um and ah about what you’re wearing each day? Think of the way those clothes make you feel – confident, sexy, in control?

Well this is what this range of make-up is seeking out to do.

It’s matching your emotions to the make-up you choose to wear that specific day,

Strategic Behavioural Therapist Lady Kennedy, who specialises in changing people’s behaviour and attitudes, helped the Lush team to bring this range to the High Street. She explains it best by saying that there are words she uses in therapy session to alter perceptions and change behaviour.

Kenedy specialises in mind care and working on your emotional state, where she takes someone from one state of mind and delivers them in another. Thus,  the Emotional Brilliance range seeks to bring this form of exclusive mind therapy to through the art of colour.

I believe that if a certain outfit or make-up can lift you mood and get you thinking in a positive way then surely it call only be a good thing. When you’re in a good mood, you want to take positive steps in making your day even better. You will be more productive, more relaxed and who know even in the mood of getting to the gym!

So why not have a go and play the game on the Lush website at www.lush.co.uk  and check to see what mood you’re in right now and what colours will reflect your mood?
