New Romanticism is in the Air with Rose Buds and Blooms

If the ‘60s loving fashionista in me would have its own way with my closet this A/W season it would be packed with laces, prints, florals, cashmere cardigans, buttons, bows, high-waisted skirts and corsets. Luckily, I am allowed to include most of the items this season. Especially florals! Yes, ladylike floral patterns for that chic fall and winter look.

Florals would usually signify spring or summer catwalk and high street trends. But not this year. We saw it on the Alexander McQueen A/W 2012 catwalk and we saw it at Erdem and that wasn’t even the half of it. But these florals weren’t pretty or girly, they were powerful, ladylike and perfect for the colder season.

Jaeger was one of the main providers of Autumnal Florals, and for this, we praise them. They have opted for strong colouring full of passion, and masculine tailoring to offset the femininity of the print.

Their powerful, Winter Garden line showcases florals over bell sleeve dresses, shirts and modern cocoon coats while Boutique by Jaeger show us a collection of rose buds scattered across fine ottoman prom dresses and silk trouser suits.

The Winter Garden line is perfect office wear for those cold autumn and winter days and the rose blooms will keep you in high spirits when the dark  nights start early. A beautifully created collection full of romance and punch, just what we need to get rid of those holiday blues.
