Kylie Jenner and a Handful of Other Gen Z’ers Made America’s Richest Self-Made Women List

It’s that wonderful time of year when Forbes releases its annual list of the list of America’s Richest Self-Made WomenThe 60 women who made it have a combined net worth of $71 billion, up 15% from $61.5 billion in 2017. The minimum net worth needed to make this year’s list is $320 million, up from $260 million last year.

So many impressive women made the cut including Diane Hendricks, cofounder and chairman of ABC Supply and Marian Ilitch, $4.3 billion, founder of Little Ceasars, Oprah, and Doris Fisher, cofounder of The Gap. But we have to give major props to cover girl Kylie Jenner who at not even 21 years old has a $900 million cosmetics empire (which she owns 100% of.) The fortune she has amassed is really due to her amazing social media presence. Remember the day she almost broke Snapchat?

“It’s incredible to be recognized for something I’m so passionate about, and I’m really grateful for that. I’ve always loved makeup and worked really hard to bring the first lip kit to market. Connecting with my fans and creating product that excites them has been an incredible process. I’ve learned so much along the way and I hope to inspire others to follow their dreams,” Jenner told Forbes.

Jenner is not in the Top 10 but this is still a very significant ranking. Jenner is just one of the handful of Gen Z women who made it on to the list. Anastasia Soare, founder of Anastasia of Beverly Hills, came in at number 21 ($1 billion); Huda Kattan, founder of Huda Beauty, was number 37 at $550 million, and Anne Wojcicki, cofounder and chief executive officer of 23andMe, was number 44 at $440 million.
