Millie Bobby Brown: ‘Being a Mother Expedited This Version of Me’

Millie Bobby Brown: ‘Being a Mother Expedited This Version of Me’

December 19, 2025

Millie Bobby Brown recently sat down with Allure to chat her favorite new items in her Florence by Mills skincare + beauty line, the company she started at age 15, and celebrates being in “her most authentic era.” We collected some of our favourite quotes from the interview.

Millie Bobby Brown isn’t Eleven anymore. After ten years of facing monsters, the actor has finally finished her run as the Hawkins hero. “I know I’ll never play her again,” she says wistfully. But she isn’t really saying goodbye to the character: “[Eleven] has influenced me in huge ways. She is a force to be reckoned with, who gave me a lot of confidence to be a hero within my own life.”

On being a new mom (Millie shares a child with husband Jake Bongiovi):

Nothing could get in the way of me being who I need to be for my daughter. You have to do everything ten times quicker, and you don’t really get to do your gua sha in the morning.

On self-care and self-love:

I want [my daughter] to see me take care of myself. I have to talk to myself kindly. [It can be easy to] talk badly about yourself and your body. After becoming a parent, I couldn’t imagine talking about myself like that anymore, because she’s going to watch me do that.

On eliminating the self-shrinking for others:

Women naturally kind of become smaller so that men feel bigger. [I] can’t see myself doing this anymore for the same reason (her daughter.)

On her most authentic era:

I want everyone to choose their own destiny and be on their own journey. If it’s not a child who expedites [this growth], think about your inner child. Think about the person that you used to be.

On her new Florence by Mills hand sanitizer:

I’m a mommy. Literally, there is one in every single bag I have!
