Think Outside the Box with these Romantic Dinner Ideas for Valentine’s Day

The most romantic day of the year – Valentine’s day – is fast approaching! A perfectly perfect opportunity to set the stage for love, which means a lot of us are looking for some hot dinner date ideas. After all, they say that one way to a person’s heart is through the stomach… Of course, the classic dinner for two in a cosy restaurant, with champagne and dessert to share will never get old. Period. But if you really want to impress your date and be a bit more unique this year, here are some ideas for a fun Valentine’s evening that your date will never forget:

Cheese and wine

Okay. There’s something really special about cheese. And wine. We all love it all year round. However, the combo really is perfect for V‑Day though. You can have it in a romantic restaurant setting or make one yourself at home.

From bries, gorgonzolas and classic cheddars, it is filling enough yet you can eat it as a snack. You don’t have to rush to eat it either, which allows more time for conversations and attention for each other. Wine is also great for a romantic dinner and it goes perfectly with the cheese.

Sushi

Sushi can make a beautiful Valentine’s dinner if you want something light, particularly if you’re trying to maintain healthier eating habits. Finding a nice sushi restaurant should be easy and can be quite novel, such as the rolling service. Of course, everyone is different and perhaps you prefer cooking your own V‑Day dinner. Indeed, you’ll make your dinner date more special by making your own sushi! There are plenty of recipes and tutorials online, so it shouldn’t be too difficult and will be a lot of fun to try.

Valentine’s bakes

If you and your partner have a sweet tooth and want to ditch the usual dinner for your date, baking something together can be lovely and very romantic. Besides the kitchen utensils you choose to use, all you need really, are the ideas of what you want to make and how you’ll decorate it. Starting with heart-shaped biscuits and ending with chocolate fondue, there are a ton of Valentine’s baking options out there.

Make it extra special by spelling out the name of your date on the bake will leave them feeling impressed.

Try different cuisines

Valentine’s dinner can be the perfect time to try out something new, making it extra memorable. Perhaps this is your first time dining out on Valentine’s Day even? If so, why not try something new and exciting.

It’s one of the busiest days of the year for restaurants and so we totally understand if you want to keep it calm and relaxing at home with your date. Here are a variety of cuisines to taste and fall in love with. Who knows, maybe you’ll find your new favourite dish that’ll keep you coming back for more! Some of the cuisines to look for include Italian, Indian, Caribbean, Greek, Mediterranean, Vietnamese, Thai or Spanish.

Experiencing something new together will definitely make your date more interesting and make some memories with only the two of you.

Cooking class

Going to a cooking class with your date can be a super fun experience. Not only does it let you do something together and have some laughs but it also covers the dinner aspect of the date, as you cook your own food. This will definitely be a memorable day – you get to find out more about each other, work on something as a team and enjoy the results together. It can reduce the awkwardness of the date as well, if that is what you are worried about, as you are not the only people in the class and you always have something to chat about in the process.
