Spring Calls for Lighter Layers – And These are the Jackets You’ll Want in Your Wardrobe

Spring Calls for Lighter Layers – And These are the Jackets You’ll Want in Your Wardrobe

March 9, 2026

Ohh… Spring is almost within reach, which means lighter layers are back on the agenda! Demand is already rising, with Google searches for “spring jacket for women under £500” up 200%. And with that said, we have pulled together a fantastic selection of jackets from a luxury brand we love; Hush, that are perfect for the sunnier and warmer season ahead.

Pure Wool Double Faced Jacket

What will be on our style agenda while we wait for warmer weather? This slightly cropped pure wool butter yellow jacket is at the top of our list, crafted from premium double-faced cloth that has been hand-sewn for a seriously luxurious feel.

Shaw Leather Jacket

Reasons this leather jacket is the perfect mid-season layer? It’s way lighter than the big duvet coats we’ve been wearing all winter, sure, but it still has that warmth to it thanks to the natural fabric which traps heat: win-win. And can we talk about the colour? This dark wine red shade is not only versatile but instantly makes any outfit look more put-together.

Jayda Utility Jacket

There’s nothing like pulling on a new springtime jacket after months of hibernation – who’s with us? The Jayda jacket is made from heavyweight cotton in a relaxed fit, meaning there’s still plenty of layering potential while we ride out the last of the cooler weather. Hook-and-eye fastenings at the front give it a utilitarian look that still feels really wearable too.

Carter Cotton Car Coat

Just how excited are you to ditch the winter puffer? If you answered something along the lines of ‘very’, this Carter car coat could be your new mid-season layer.

Lumi Funnel Neck Leopard Print Bomber Jacket

We’re yet to find an item of clothing that doesn’t look great in leopard print. We simply love the Hush Lumi bomber jacket with a pop of pattern: subtle enough that we feel confident wearing it in everyday situations (like grabbing our morning coffee or at the school gates) but in a way that means we don’t blend into the background.

Suede Bomber Jacket

Reasons you shouldn’t invest in our suede bomber jacket this season? It’s a rhetorical question, because we honestly can’t think of any. This is one of those pieces you’ll be wearing decades down the line, it’s that timeless and versatile. We can’t resist a quick feel of the butter-soft fabric every time we pass it in the office – trust us, it’s beautiful.

Viv Quilted Jacket

Say hello to Viv: the perfect lightweight jacket to throw on over knits and T-shirts when the weather takes an unexpected turn this spring. It’s made from a cotton-lyocell blend with a twill-like finish, meaning it’s softer (and less shiny) than the bulky outerwear we’ve been bundled up in lately. Rest assured, the on-trend onion quilting and light wadding inside will still keep us cosy while we’re manifesting warmer days.

Avril Cotton Utility Barn Jacket

This cotton utility barn jacket is the epitome style, and in this soft blush pink it’s the perfect way to step into spring.
