Injecting a Spark Of Luck Into Your Wardrobe Over 50

Injecting a Spark Of Luck Into Your Wardrobe Over 50

February 7, 2025

The older we get, we still want to dress to impress. So, if you’ve hit the 50 mark and are looking to bring some luck into your wardrobe – or need an extra confidence boost – let’s take a look at some lucky colours to incorporate into your outfits this year.

Why Are Colours Considered Lucky?

There are many reasons throughout the world that someone may find a colour lucky. This could be down to religion, cultural practices, astrology, personal preference, or even the games that they like to play. Take something like online casinos, for example. When players try their hand at Paddy’s Live Roulette, they can choose whether to wager on a specific coloured number or each colour as a whole when picking their bet. In other live roulette games, like Live Spread Bet Roulette, certain bets are also given a colour – green, yellow, purple, red, orange, pink, and blue. The results of roulette are entirely down to chance, so no colour has a higher chance of being landed on than the other. That said, some players will naturally gravitate towards one, making it their personal lucky colour.

Elsewhere, lucky colours can be determined by your birthdate, either through something like Zodiac signs, or a Paht Chee analysis. Paht Chee follows similar elements to Chinese medicine, using the five elements of metal, earth, fire, and water. The focus here is on balancing these five elements, similar to the concept of feng shui.

Colours to Wear According to the Paht Chee Chart Over 50

According to Paht Chee, 2025 is the year of the wood snake. Throughout the year, there is said to be an excess of the wood and water elements, and a shortage of earth and fire. Meanwhile, metal doesn’t appear anywhere on the chart. In order to find a balance in your outfits, you’ll first need to consider the group of colours that represent each element.

For over 50s to boost the metal element, the colours you may choose would be white, gold, and silver, which represent resources and support this year. With this in mind, wearing a range of jewellery and accessories every day can make for a balanced outfit – think stacked rings, layered necklaces, and a range of different earrings.

Another element you’ll want to enhance is fire, using red, purple, and orange tones – and, earth is represented by yellows. Interestingly, these are also considered incredibly lucky in places like China, symbolising happiness, good luck, success, and power. This expands the potential for a bright and vibrant wardrobe. Even when over 50, don’t be afraid to play with bold, summery, and autumnal shades!

As there is an excess of wood and water this year, you may want to tone down how much blue, black, brown, and green you incorporate into your outfits. Of course, neutrals like chocolate, black, and navy are a staple of everyone’s closets, so if you do wear these colours, you can pair them with colours from those above. For example, a formal outfit could consist of a black pair of dress pants, paired with a yellow blouse, and red heels, finished with a range of gold and silver jewellery.

There you have it – just a few ways you can bring balance and luck to your outfits as someone over 50. With these principles and ideas in mind, all that’s left to do is get creative and experiment with your lucky colour palette.
