The London Lookbook: Longing For Spring

The London Lookbook: Longing For Spring

With Spring on the horizon it’s time to think about transitional pieces. Even though warmer days seem a long way off, the advent of the new season will come around before we know it.

Winter to Spring dressing is always the most challenging – layering light summer clothes under hefty winter coats leaves plenty of room for error. I’ve realised the best path to transitional style is to start with the outer wear – this vintage leather trench coat is perfect for layering with pastel knitwear and floral dresses. It’s oversized shape keeps the look modern whilst retaining the enduring classism of vintage clothes. I’ve paired it with a vintage shirtdress; the manly button down shirt is a huge look for SS14. It’s another great transitional piece, especially when layered Uniqlo Heattech long sleeved tops, the first defence against an arctic early spring.

This leather trench, belt, bag and shirtdress are all from one of my favourite vintage boutiques, Cha Cha Cha.
