Gigi Hadid’s 90s Hollywood Bob is the Romantic Hairstyle You Need to Try This Valentine’s Day

February 14, 2025

Gigi Hadid wowed fans last year when she traded her long blonde tresses for a chin-length bob. And now Gigi is showing us just how romantic and versatile a bob can be.

In her latest Instagram post, the supermodel combined the romance of Hollywood waves with the playfulness of a flippy bob. With her in a deep side parting, her waves were kept loose and sleek to form the dramatic signature ‘S’ shape around her cheekbones and ears, while the ends flicked upward.

The style is reminiscent of old Hollywood glamour while also giving a nod to style icons of the 90s, such as Drew Barrymore.

She’s not the only celebrity to be rocking this hair trend. ZendayaKim Kardashian and Selena Gomez have all recently been spotted with their own 90s Hollywood bobs.

To achieve the look yourself this upcoming Valentine’s Day, you’ll need to part your hair in a deep side part. This look works best if you have no layers or face-framing pieces, but if you do, some short clip-in hair extensions can help mask this.

Begin by spritzing damp hair with heat protectant and a firm-hold volumizing mousse. With a medium-sized round brush, blow-dry your hair with particular emphasis at your hairline. Your t-section will need to be blow-dried upwards and towards the back of your head to help achieve the same volume as Gigi.

Next, curl your hair with a large, barrelled curling iron. To keep this loose, just curl your hair around the barrel in one twist.

Make sure to sculpt your hair into the ‘S’ shape and have your wave curl around your ear on your dominant side. Tuck the hair behind your ear on the other side. While warm, pin your waves in place to cool and set. No-crease clips are ideal for avoiding any dents in your hair, but bobby pins can work too.

Finally, use your curling iron or a hair straightener to create the flicks at the end of your hair and finish with a shine spray and firm-hold hairspray.
