Organic Beauty

We have all heard that beauty is only skin deep and although this is true, it is important to be aware of what is in products that we apply on ourskin. Sometimes we get so bogged down by just looking good and paying for the latest must have products on the market, we don’t pay enough attention to what actually goes into those products.

There  is plenty of evidence to suggest that potentially harmful chemicals are prevalent in many beauty products. For example, parabens mimic estrogen which can cause cancer and all hair dyes contain a preservative called para-phenlenediamine, also a potential carcinogen. It just goes to show just how ignorant we can be of exactly what we put on our face and skin.

Just like organic food, we can get organic and eco products for our outward beauty. The demand for natural and organic beauty products has steadily grown in the last few years with more companies embracing this concept. Generally speaking, natural products are derived from plants, animals or minerals whereas organic refers to the way something was made – free from pesticides, chemicals, hormones and antibiotics.

Terre d’Orc is a make-up range which is increasingly becoming one of my favourite organic products. All they’re products including foundation, bronzing powder, blusher, eye shadow and mascara are certified organic and dermatologically tested.

The brands 0rganyc’s all purpose wet wipes are fab! They are great for removing make-up and with festival weekend around the corner, Organyc’s even do Intimate Wet Wipes, which are ideal for when you’re queueing up for the portable loo! They contain no parabens, alcohol or chlorine and because they are made with organic cotton they won’t contain any pesticides.

Also, all us girls are in need of a pampering now and then and my beady eye discovered that evolve have launched a new organic Light Perfect AHA Mask. It’s great for an instant fix for porcelain smooth radiant skin that us girls deserve!
