Will Kim Kardashians Shoot Spark a 1960s Trend?

Kim Kardashian’s most recent shoot has got us wondering, are box bags, pearls and skirt suits making a comeback?

It’s really not hard to keep up with the Kardashian’s because Kim K is killing it lately and it is all over social media. Kim Kardashian & North West’s shoot with Interview Magazine came just in time for fall fashion inspo. And yes, we are starting to talk about fall clothing and style right now, including all the wonderful things she wears in the magazine. But the real question we pulled from it was, “Will Kim’s recent shoot spark at 1960’s trend?”

You can thank the online luxury vintage shop, “Open for Vintage,” for making all of your vintage dreams come true. If you look on the Open for Vintage website, you will see that it is a luxury e-commerce platform that offers pre-loved, vintage designer fashion, handbags, jewellery and much more. The vintage items come directly form authenticated boutiques and not from the norm, which are individual sellers. Open for Vintage launched last May 2015, and already has a lot of eyes from many celebrities, including Kim Kardashain West, who uses it frequently. It really aims to make shopping for vintage clothing easy and accessible

There is no doubt that Jackie O has amazing taste and style. The stylists from the Interview Magazine photoshoot definitely pulled some of their items from vintage shops to make it extra special.

The article paid tribute in the best way by bringing back the 1960’s look just in time for fall weather. This reminded and inspired us to think about our own personal style and what will always be classics in our closet. Pearls never go out of style, skirt suits can be cute by pairing it with the right accessories, and a classic boxed bag look is always the right way to compliment any outfit. The photo shoot used some classic vintage clothing that are one of a kind and very hard to find, but thanks to Open for Vintage, you can recreate, update, and find what you need in a flash.

By going on the decades tab at Open for Vintage’s website, you can easily find the 1960s pieces you are looking for; whether it is a mod bright pink Frederick Starke shift dress or a pair of Chanel pearl earrings, all is available and ready for you!

What we found when we were scrolling through the 1960’s section was bomb, and we know that pearls, boxed bags and skirt suits will be what is on the runway this fall. Take a look below to see the goods we favourited.

First of all, we are obsessed with the red vintage Hermes Box bagThe colour is to die for, and it has multiple straps for you to choose from. And honestly, what says fall more than a red wine colored tote? NOTHING.

MOD is where it’s at! We found this vintage Mod style blue mini dress that would be PERFECT with a pair or pearl earrings and high knee boots. The colour is a toned down baby blue and would be perfectly paired with a leather jacket for fall.

Last but not least, we love this Christian Dior black vintage skirt suit we found. You can tailor to your height, but the long skirt is kind of in right now, especially with a pair of heels. And don’t worry at all, if you get hot or cold, keep the jacket on or take it off and show off a cute silk coloured blouse.

We thank you Jackie O, Interview Magazine and Kim & North West for your constant inspiration in the past, present and future of vintage clothing.
