Burberry Prorsum AW13 Fashion Show (LFW)

‘Trench Kisses’ left us swooning at the Burberry Prorsum AW13 Show!

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Front Row Burberry Prorsum AW13 London Fashion Week

This Monday at London Fashion Week, Burberry proved that they are still the best. The whole globe is in love with this classic British brand, and their show was one of the most anticipated of the week.

The show, which took place in Kensington Gardens, was a resounding success, with some members of the audience reportedly being moved to tears at the wow-factor designs of creative director Christopher Bailey.

Of course, our current model sweethearts Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn were present, both modelling Burberry’s latest sweetheart print, in briefs, a trench and midi-dress.  This chic print was also available in a blouse and in a black shirt on the menswear line.

Burberry Prorsum AW 2013 London Fashion Week

Christopher Bailey stayed true to his signature ‘romance’ genre within his pieces, but this year, there was some extra ‘ooh-la-la’, presenting a ‘naughty-but-nice’ feel.  He really stepped up the ‘sexy’ for AW13, as there was much translucent rubber present, in the form of pencil skirts and mixed-media trench-coats, in addition to leopard-print coats, tops and skirts.

The animal theme was an important one throughout the collection, with camel-coats and different snake-skin, pony-skin and cow prints on pencil skirts, handbags, jackets and coats.

We saw metallic necklines and belts, patent, oxblood trenches and skirts. In addition, there were gorgeous military-style tassels on skirts and trench-coats, complete with gold appliquéd eyelets.  These same themes were present in the accessory range, with matching clutch-totes and cutesy shoes.

This A-list show brought out an impressive A-list crowd, with stars including Rita Ora, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Kate Beckinsale and Freida Pinto all revelling in Christopher Bailey’s talent. These A-listers certainly brought their A-game in terms of style,  channelling the current AW13 masculine theme. Kate Beckinsale wore a crisp white Burberry shirt tucked in to a white pencil-skirt with a double-belt. Victoria’s Secret’s Rosie came up trumps in a bright, tangerine trouser-suit, and Rita Ora cut a similar shape in a navy trouser suit, along with a white T-Shirt that had a sketch of BFF Cara Delevingne on it. Freida Pinto also went for trousers, matching the deep emerald satin with a colour-pop acid-green handbag, and a satin midnight blue sweetheart top, which featured a peplum and a black, satin sash.

We were so excited when Christopher Bailey, at the end of the show, admitted that he already was thinking about next year’s show. And with such a success this year, we’re sure that Burberry will reign once again next year.
