Mataano Fall/Winter 13 Collection (NYFW)

On Monday, February 11th, fashionistas gathered for an exclusive runway presentation of the Fall/Winter Mataano collection in New York City…

Models walked the runway at the Mataano Fall/Winter fashion show during Fashion Week at Landmark on the Park in NYC. Twin designers Ayaan & Idyl Mohallim wanted to broaden their scope and push the brand in an assertive direction; presenting 20 looks that were a salute to power dressing.

Swathed in glossy patent leather and animal printed silks, paired with loose-fitting knits, the pieces displayed the kind of polished edge only city living can inspire. Classically tailored coats and heavy washed silks with menswear accents were the perfect compliment to this ode to urban dressing. Rich colors of pink mocha, bordeaux, navy and deep black set the tone for a collection that was a meditation on authoritative style.
