Celebrity Spotlight: Shailene Woodley

Shailene Woodley: 2013’s brightest star!

It seems like everything this girl has done, she’s done well. From minor roles to lead roles, Shailene is taking on newer and better things, one step at a time.

Shailene Woodley, 20, started acting in commercials when she was five, and has since done a series of t.v. shows starting with “The District” and “Crossing Jordan.” Most of us though,  first saw her as Mischa Barton’s little sis in “The OC” and then as Amy Juergans, the 15 year old who finds herself pregnant in the show “The Secret Life of the American Teenager.”

Since then, Shailene has continued to wow, especially when she snagged the title role in “Felicity: An American Girl Adventure,” and then with her major breakout film, The Descendants, where she starred opposite George Clooney. Lucky girl! And now, her stardom is only going to rise higher.

Currently, she’s been busy shooting “The Spectacular Now,” about a high school senior, who, when he starts dating a social-outcasts, begins to understand the great effect people have on one another. The film comes out next year and has already gotten high marks.

Apparently, though, we’re not the only one’s loving Woodley’s work. E.L. James, author of the wildly popular Fifty Shades of Grey series, wants Woodley to star as her protagonist, Anastasia Steele. With that on her resumé, Woodley is sure to be the next A-list star. Twilight Producer Marty Bowen has noted this is one of the most coveted roles in Hollywood right now: “whoever lands the role will be the next A-lister,” he says. Will the actors who play Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey capture our attention the way Twilight series actors Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have? So far, Woodley’s on track.

What are your thoughts? Who should play Anastasia Steele and does Shailene have what it takes?
