Hair and Beauty Destination: Sassoon Salon

Summer has come to an end and we are now in the middle my favourite season – it’s fall! The time of the year when the weather gets crisp and the evenings are drawing in.  As the weather gets colder, we may be thinking about refreshing our wardrobes to prepare ourselves for the winter months ahead. Many of us may also be thinking about changing our hairstyles to match our new fall wardrobe.

Some of us want to do a different hair colour – little darker maybe – while some of you perhaps choose to go for a new cut. Others, like myself, choose to do both.

Sassoon Salon

I know, I know – long hair is in this season but the other week I decided to do something I have wanted to do for months now. I cut my hair! And I cut it short. The reason to why I haven’t done this before is simply because I didn’t find the right hair salon. So when I heard that Sassoon, my fave hairsalon in the US, actually was located here in London as well, I made one of those urgent calls and told them it was an emergency.

Sassoon just opened one of its cutting edge salons on Kings Road, located in the heart of Chelsea. At Sassoon its all about creativity, characteristics and the talented staff work hard to achieve personalized looks for their clients.

Being a regular customer at Sassoon in the US, I wasn’t surprised when London based hair stylist Matt (“my mom only calls me Matthew, he laughs, and that’s when I know I have done something wrong”) shook his head and said ‘No darling, no going back to blonde for you – this red colour suits you perfectly – you look fab!’

Matt recommended me to try Sassoon’s newest collection in hair color Hair! The collection would bring out that natural looking color he promised, and it did!

At Sassoon, the creative team work with hair in its natural state, treating it as an organic material, applying techniques with consideration for the individual.

The new Salon Collection from Sassoon for Autumn Winter combines the inspiration of the optimistic sixties with the lustre of modern luxury. The colours within the collection create a harmonious tone and they look real but with added amplification. The resulting looks showcase personalised, high definition colour that is alive with fibre-optic, iridescence and effortlessly sophisticated results that advances individual beauty, surprising and delighting even the most discerning client.

I have been a red head for a while but it’s been a while since I was this happy with the result. My hair color looked sophisticated and naturally red – just that luxurious look I was aiming for.

Senior Creative Director Ida has been working in the industry for years and started her career with Sassoon in 2000. She listened carefully when I told her how I wanted my new hairstyle. “Bob?” she said “it’s my speciality – if you are cutting a bob, Sassoon is the place to go.”
