A look inside our beauty cupboard: Autumn beauty essentials
As we slowly creep into autumn, it’s time to ditch the floral scents and make way for a few seasonal updates to our makeup bags! Any excuse, right? Just like our fashion, we enjoy transitioning to a slightly darker palette, with richer tones and deeper shades for the winter season. At YCB we’ve been going crazy for a couple of new product launches that will definitely be working their way onto our dressers! Have a look at what the office can’t stop talking about this week…
Cohorted Ovali Brush Set
It was love at first sight with this stunning set of oval brushes from Cohorted! The rose gold detailing is stunning and truly Pinterest worthy! We’ve heard a lot of great reviews regarding this popular style of oval brush recently and couldn’t wait to give these a try ourselves. The brushes are inspired by East Asian beauty innovations and are described as ‘the next step in makeup artistry’. The brushes are also 100% cruelty free with a low carbon footprint which is fantastic.
So what did we think? We’re pleased to report that the brushes perform just as beautifully as they look! We particularly love the foundation brush, offering an even application and seamless finish. You really can notice the difference in using this unique style of brush, we were worried that the oval stylemight be a little tricky to get used to at first but it’s surprisingly easy to use and offers a much greater finish on our makeup than our regular brushes.
The powder brush was another standout for us, picking up just the right amount of product and sweeping over our faces offering maximum coverage. The concealer brush did a great job of hiding those pesky dark circles under our eyes and the small head of the brush offers increased control when applying your concealer and is much more effective and hygienic than using your fingers! A big thumbs up from the YCB team.
Calvin Klein Deep Euphoria
A new fragrance for the new season is a great excuse to treat yourself! The classic Calvin Klein ‘Euphoria’ (which we’ve loved since circa 2005) has had a few autumnal updates. Introducing Calvin Klein Deep Euphoria, an instant classic which we can’t get enough of.
The gorgeous Margot Robbie was announced as the face of the fragrance back in May this year, and after a few teasers of the campaign it’s finally here! The scent itself encompasses a vibrant chypre floral with stunning notes of black magic rose and sensual musk. Available at fragrancedirect.co.uk, the fragrance is described as “the more modern, empowered sister” of the original cult classic. With its killer combo of wood, spice and patchouli this is a sexy, sultry fragrance must-have to take you into Autumn.
